Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) is the study of human behaviour. It is one of the fastest growing tools for getting results and creating success in the business world today. It explores the relationship between how we think, how we communicate both verbally and non-verbally and our patterns of behaviour. It is also used to facilitate accelerated learning by accessing the unconscious mind.
Its techniques are used by high achievers in the sporting and business world to develop leadership, build relationships and inspire people at all levels. It is particularly useful when applied to health and safety training as it encourages thr behavioural and lifestyle changes in the workplace that are necessary to achieve a real change in attitude and develop a positive safety culture. In the UK and Ireland the focus has been on changing staff behaviour at all
levels towards safety, supported by strategic investment and the implementation of OSHA 18001, an externally verified safety risk management system.
One area of particular attention has been the safety of delivery drivers working on customer sites. We have invested heavily in new commercial vehicles to a higher specification than the norm in the agricultural supply industry, a lone worker monitoring and tracking system as well as comprehensive driver training. In addition, a behavioural safety programme has been specifically designed for us to meet the needs of our drivers.
This programme was specifically designed by Darren Sutton, MD of CSST using cutting edge approaches to safety including NLP techniques.
